Christopher Heider was a member of FBLA Collegiate at the University of South Florida from 1977-1981. During this time, he served as local and state vice president, local chapter president, and state president. He was the 1981 recipient of the Rob Kelleher Memorial Award and I counted him as one of my very best friends.
After graduation, he wanted to encourage young people to join FBLA-PBL so he joined the newly created Alumni Division. In his first year of membership, right after college graduation, he became the very first National President of the Alumni Division. After his term was over, he continued to be an ambassador for FBLA. Unfortunately, Christopher passed away in the late 80’s and never saw the Alumni Division expanded and renamed to the Professional Division. To honor his devotion to the organization, his passion for business and for educating young people, and his service as an alumni member, the Florida FBLA Professional Division now known as the Alumni Network established the Christopher J. Heider Scholarship Award.
